A total of 25 students from Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences spent a semester under the supervision of Professor Christoph Zielke working intensively on a design project to develop logo designs for the 2029 State Garden Show. On February 3, 2025, the jury had to be convinced of the work they had done. The winning design by Mariam Hachem was awarded prize money of 7,000 euros, the second-placed duo Marcele Rimoli and Marcella Partzsch received 2,000 euros and third-placed Camila Salazar 1,000 euros. The jury was advised by the supervising professors Christoph Zielke and Nicolas Markwald as well as Michael Menge and Mats Kubiak, two external design experts from renowned German agencies.

Camila's design is characterized by a bold, playful and colourful design language. The targeted reduction to simple, graphically concise shapes creates a clear visual message with a high recognition value.
Yuna Ichihashi

Yuna's minimalist design approach is based on the combination of a semicircle and a line. Varying arrangements of these two basic elements create a variety of floral shapes that symbolize the rich flora of the 2029 State Garden Show. The clarity and reduction of her design lend the design a striking aesthetic with a high recognition value.

Daryna's designs are based on a structured grid on which colorful elements are arranged. The result is a multi-layered design that visually unites water, sky, flora, fauna and the city of Kleve. The result is a lively and opulent design that radiates dynamism and diversity.
Samira Jannat

Gentle color gradients and a harmonious color palette characterize Samira's floral illustrations and lend them a poetic lightness. This reflects the magic of the Landesgartenschau. Her logo, which dissolves into an abstract form, elegantly combines flora and fauna.
The dynamic design by Mariam Hachem has won 1st prize in the competition for the logo of the 2029 State Garden Show. She was awarded 7,000 euros by the city of Kleve.
